The Notebooks of the Reverend Damien Marie Saintourens, OP, Founder of the Cloistered Dominican Sisters of the Perpetual Rosary, by The Cloistered Dominican Nuns of the Perpetual Rosary, Lancaster, PA
Digitization, design/layout, and production by Alice S. Morrow Rowan
“Frequently the idea comes to me of a monastery of Dominican Sisters who would be specially consecrated to the Perpetual Rosary. I consulted Rome and last month I received a favorable answer. . . . This is the history of that foundation. . . . This work is going to change my life—my life that does not belong to me. A long time ago I vowed it to God for the propagation of devotion to the Most Holy Virgin. To love and make loved the Most Holy Virgin—such was the keynote of all my apostolic labors. If it be necessary to go to the end of the world to realize what I promised, it matters little; I am ready. The best thing in this world consists in allowing oneself to be led by Divine Providence. Man proposes, it is said, and God disposes. Ah, well, let us allow ourselves to be led by God and we shall always be well led.” ~ The Reverend Damien Marie Saintourens, OP, December 1875
