"Robert Carson (1908–2000) taught biology and psychology at Kane High School in McKean County, Pennsylvania, for twenty-seven years. A graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, an educational advisor for the Civilian Conservation Corps, and a captain in the Army Air Corps during World War II, Carson completed The Quarry after retiring. A prolific writer, he wrote letters, articles, stories, and an educational series called Art in the Environment." ~ From back cover of The Quarry
"Dad was not able to publish his novel before he died, but he hoped that his children would complete the project for him. I am grateful that I could fulfill Dad's wish, as a gift to my family and to our friends from Kane who knew and cared about my father. Thank you to my dear friend and editor Alice S. Morrow Rowan of Not Forgotten Publishing Services, whose persistence, expertise, and friendship guided me in turning into a book the pages Dad composed on a manual typewriter." ~ Mary L.
